Always a Rotarian

Carl Golletz was always a Rotarian, in both word and deed. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Brandon for over 50 years, beginning in 1970, when Russell Strahl invited him to join the club. The club at that time had 83 members and contributed significantly to community service in many aspects of life in Brandon. As the club evolved since 1970, Carl participated in almost all of the Rotary Projects during that period from HighwayCleanup on Grand Valley, to Hazardous Materials Disposal, Burger Days and most significantly the Rotary Book Sale. Carl was an avid golfer and always participated in the Rotary Food For Thought Annual Golf Tournaments. He was always a big supporter of Grey Cup ticket sales, Rotary Christmas Cake sales and $100 Rotary Fun and Leisure ticket sales.

On his 50th Rotary Anniversary, Carl said “Rotary has given me the opportunity to be of community service and to enjoy the fellowship with Rotarians.  It has been my pleasure to have been associated with The Rotary of Brandon for my past 50 years”.

He was a very conscientious Rotarian. President Alan Moulin remembers Carl apologizing for not working at the fall Book Sale in 2024, due to his physical limitations. Carl was an enthusiastic supporter, contributor and promoter of the Rotary Westman Foundation. His ability to work with, and socially connect with fellow Rotarians and the community, was one of his many strengths.

President Alan believes that Carl’s perspective on life, and his deeds, is reflected in his belief in the Rotary four-way test.

Of the Things we Think, Say or Do,

Is it the Truth?

Is it Fair to all Concerned?

Will it create better Friendships and Goodwill?

Will it be Beneficial to all Concerned?

Carl will always be a Rotarian.

Thank you Carl, for over 50 years of community  service as a member of The Rotary Club of Brandon #1344.
